Pentateuch

PENTATEUCH

All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work. (2 Tim 3:16).

COURSE DESCRIPTION

This course introduces students to the first five books of the Bible, known as Pentateuch.  The Pentateuch is a collection of books that describe the story of Israel’s faith from Creation to the promised land.  It spans the period from Genesis 1 to Deuteronomy 34.  This collection of books explains the development of Israel’s faith and culture.  The book dates back to the days of Moses.  It is also a historical document.  This ancient text is a foundation for the Jewish faith.  It is therefore not surprising that it contains some of the oldest-known biblical texts, treating historical beginnings, content of Covenant, Jewish culture and the Torah.
