What do you earn if you pray

Once upon a time, a poor old man, who rested his temples every Sunday in the pews of the church, was asked by one of his neighbors:
– What did you earn for praying to God
so often? “Nothing,” the old man replied. But I’ll tell you what I’ve lost: pride, anger, greed, envy, fear of death…

Critics see prayer as a waste of time, as a way to escape the face of problems. They say you’d rather act than pray. Therefore, I am so often absent from prayer.

But I have discovered that prayer can be risky: it convinces me to lose what I don’t want! Andrew Murray said that “prayer is the power by which what might not otherwise occur.”

What do you gain if you pray? First of all, the answers from above for our prayers are not only gains. It’s also losses. Which eventually becomes… Secondly, our prayers do not change God. It’s changing us. And thirdly prayer is a designated tool to make use of the power of God.

Pray! Even if you don’t get an answer. You’ll even learn what a victory by defeat means!
