The advancement of our economy has resulted in many concerns regarding the quality of our public K-12 educational system. In light of this, several states have established efforts to improve their public school rankings by instituting school improvement programs and reviewing educational policies. In recent years, the rising popularity of Christian based education has given these organizations an effective way to promote a conservative Christian approach to education. In response, some school districts have adopted a “one size fits all” approach to school policy which fails to take into consideration individual preferences for a proper Christian education. Several of these individual preferences are based on the fact that traditional Christian schooling does not emphasize or place as much importance on independent study as the secularist based schools do. As a result, the non-traditional Christian-based schools are now starting to catch up in the classroom, and are providing a valuable education experience.
For a Christian school to receive accreditation, it must meet certain requirements. These requirements can be quite strict, but there are also many schools out there that are now accredited by the most respected organizations in the education field. One of these organizations, NAHB (National Association of Home School Curriculum), has created a website where parents and teachers can search for state-accredited online Christian schools.
This list includes both public and private schools accredited by the most prestigious organizations in the education field, including: North Star Colleges, Alliance National Education Association, and National Association for Career Development.
Christian teacher training is available from numerous accredited online learning institutions. These online courses offer a great deal of flexibility, as they can easily be taken around your schedule. In addition to the traditional classroom learning experience, Christian based online course work can incorporate fun activities, games, prayer exercises, and professional development among other learning opportunities. A few schools also provide Internet access as part of the classroom curriculum. As you can see, Christian based online education can be highly rewarding and can provide a great deal of educational benefit to students, especially those looking to teach their children at a young age.
