Having peace with God

And not only that, but we rejoice in God, through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have been reconciled. (Romans 5:11)

The search for peace is something we can commit to for ourselves and for ourselves. Peace can be found in many places. Whether it’s the spa, the gym or any other place where we relax, it’s good to intend to find the sanctuary we need.

The word “sanctuary” comes from the Latin “sanctus” which means sacred or holy. In the pursuit of peace, we must be careful not to lose sight of what is sacred.

Our connection with God has been restored through Jesus. He brought us into a living relationship with the Father, giving us the opportunity to call ourselves friends of God.

As with all important friendships, we need to be honest and open so that connection can be deep. Go before the Lord with the things you must give up, seeking His loving goodness to give you peace. Ask Him to continue to shape you into the likeness of Christ.

Talk to one of your best friends and tell them what you value about your connection. After this conversation, reflect on how you can build a similar relationship with God, as He has called you His friend.
