France President Emmanuel Macron was punched in the face during his visit in southeastern France. During his trip in the region of Drome, president Macron was approaching a crowd of people to greet them and shake their hands.

A video posted on social media shows how president Emmanuel Macron was slapped on the face by a man he came to greet, at which point security officers intervened and the president appeared to be safe. President Macron got into a car after visiting the Hotel High School in Tain-l Hermitage to go to the central Valence to dine on the terrace of a restaurant. It seemed that nobody from the President’s security expected such an encounter with the member of the public; which ended by President Macron being slapped on the face in public.

While holding on Emmanuel Macron’s arm, slapped President Macron across his left cheek, and yelled for the end of “Macronie”, a term used for French presidency. As it appeared on the video, Macron’s security team was quick in intervening and pulling the president away from the crowd and danger.
